Palouse Falls
Most of eastern Washington to Yellowstone and beyond is made up of old lava flows often over 1000 feet thick. Here, Palouse Falls is 200 feet high, cutting through five separate layers of columnar basalt from different lava flows. Note the protruding structure 40-50 feet high above and left of the top of the falls.
