Small Bison Herd on the Move in Lamar Valley
From Mammoth one drives 45 minutes east to the Lamar Valley early in the morning to see all kinds of animals. There are 6,000 bison in the park moving in herds of 100 to 1000+ animals. While most seem to be in the Lamar Valley, individuals do crop up in other regions of the park. This small herd was moving down toward the road and construction we were waiting to pass through.
