2023 Osyooos Eagle Bluff Fire
This image looks from our suite deck over US Boundary Point at 3:45 pm on Saturday and shows a substantial but localized fire to the West of Oroville. Earlier in the day (noon?) we had seen a small amount of wildfire smoke on this sight line but somewhat further back over one or two ridges. We did not pay much attention to it because we had seen a half dozen such smaller fires in the earlier few days in Cathedral Lakes Provincial Park (about 70 km West), which seemed to come and go naturally without getting large.
There was a strong wind blowing towards the north as indicated by the brown plume. At this time we were in the shade of the smoke, but not smelling very much.
